Three For Free Friday 15

Feature by Tom Grimes, February 19, 2010

Tiki Totems, The Profiler and Blastwave are free this week but you might want to hesitate before you download them because they’re very addictive!

Tiki Totems

Tiki Totems is a physics puzzle game with similar gameplay to Tumbledrop. Your aim is to remove the given number of blocks without letting the golden totem touch the ground or fall off the screen. While a seemingly simple task, the different block types and precise physics toughen the levels, and some of the later puzzles will have you scratching your head! With a total of 80 levels there is certainly enough content to keep you going, and to top it all off there’s even OpenFeint integration.

The game is free as part of the Free App a Day campaign, so grab before it goes back up to 59p tomorrow!

The Profiler

There are tons of hidden object games on the App Store and in order to stand out a game has to be unique in some way or another. Luckily The Profiler manages to do this by presenting itself as a crime investigation game. You examine a succession of crime scenes from the Hopscotch serial killer, and after retrieving a series of objects, you have to determine the victims cause of death. If you guess the cause wrong you have to replay the level and find all the objects again. The storyline may be a little generic but it’s nice to have a reason why you’re collecting the objects, and eventually trace back to who committed the murders.

We found ourselves addicted to this game and it actually delayed us from writing this feature, so make sure you have a good amount of free time before you download it!

Blastwave

We featured one of Invictus’ games last week and today they’ve lowered the price of Blastwave to free. It’s another puzzle game with a huge amount of levels and some interesting gameplay. It’s kind of a combination of BioSub and Poppi: you have to move the Tittles by creating ripples in the liquid with your finger. There are three different modes, each of which have contrasting gameplay elements. In Chain Reaction you have to push the Blasties into each other, in Critical Mass you have to prevent them from touching and in Collector you have to sort them into their different types. The three modes give the game a good variety and the puzzles can be pretty hard!

Blastwave is free for just a few days so make sure you pick it up while you can!
