Armada - Galactic War is an upcoming real-time strategy game from Pixel Stream. It may not sound all too special at first but there is one thing that the game focuses on: online multiplayer. There are only a handful of games that offer this and we can foresee Armada as being one of the few that presents it right. Not only does the game contain online multiplayer, but it also has some rather stunning 3D graphics.

Like in most RTS games, your goal is to obliterate your opponent, specifically their mother ship, by creating and manoeuvring your units. You can play as one of three races: Human, Cyborg or Alien, each of which has three types of units you can create: Mechs, Tanks and Ships. Many RTS games can last for hours but Armada has pretty speedy unit creation which keeps the round times at a low five to ten minutes, and also allows you to get your units onto the battlefield quickly. One small space station style map is currently in the game, but a variety of others will be added before its release.

Back to the multiplayer side of things, you’ll be able to create an online profile which saves your progress as you play and gain experience. Credits you earn in the game allow you to upgrade your armada, and a similar match-making system to Eliminate Pro will propel you into a four player free-for-all with people around your skill level.
Armada - Galactic War looks very promising to us so far, and we really look forward to giving it a go. The developers have yet to determine a price but have stated that it will be below £2.99 and they’re aiming for a late February release.
