Most rhythm games follow the generic concept set out by Guitar Hero, but Lyric Legend strays from the pack into new, more unique territory. Instead of tapping along to a certain instrument, you follow the lyrics word by word as they are sung. Now the challenge here isn’t just to tap the lyrics at the correct time, you have to find the right word among the bubbles of verse. This really tests your reaction speed and allows for five difficulties on each song (the number of bubbles on screen rises as the difficulty increases). Check out our gameplay video below:
Lyric Legend seems relatively undiscovered at the moment, which is surprising since the concept is fantastic and it is available for free. Three songs are included with the game: Gimme Sympathy by Metric, Giving Up the Gun by Vampire Weekend and Move Along by The All American Rejects.
