4 Bugs is pretty much a spot the difference game, and exactly like in the age old games, you are given two pictures that you have to find the differences between. 4 Bugs doesn't make it easy though, the differences that you have to find are usually pretty subtle. Examples of them are small pieces missing off bits in a photo and slightly different coloured parts; nothing as simple as missing objects. We found the differences are quite challenging to spot, but they aren't too hard, so the difficulty is just about right. What does make the game difficult is the time limit that you are given to find the four differences, or "bugs" as the name implies. The amount of time left after you have found the differences is the score that you receive and if you tap on the screen and it isn't a difference; your time will decrease slightly, so this means you can't cheat by continually tapping all over the image.

You can play either 1 Player or 2 Player in 4 Bugs. In 1 Player you race against the timer to find the differences in a photo and once you finish one picture you will move onto the next until the bomb explodes. Before you start each picture you will be given the option to swap the image for a different one if you think the picture looks particularly hard. You can do this up to two times in a game and we think it is a very good feature because it gives the player some choice. Your end score can be posted to both local and online highscore boards so there is some competition in the game.

In 2 Player mode you will play directly against another another person. The game randomly chooses who goes first and you have to try and find the differences in a picture faster than your opponent can. While this can be pretty fun we found that it can also be unfair because the pictures are chosen randomly, so you could get an easier photo than your opponent or visa versa. After each round the cartoon bugs which portray each player will either celebrate or commiserate depending on whether or not you won. This is a nice little touch and is much better than just words telling you who won.

4 Bugs has over 500 images for you to spot the differences of, so it has a large amount of content and you will rarely come across the same picture twice. The game however doesn't have any hints you can use which we found a little disappointing because sometimes you will find all but one difference and just need a little help to find the last one. There are also no instructions which we found annoying because even with a game as simple as this there were a few things that confused us. We found that while the game has a lot of pictures to play, as well as a highscores board, it just doesn't hold our interest for long and overall it's just another spot the difference game that doesn't bring much new.

Grade: C, Good

Even though it has a large amount of content; 4 Bugs doesn't bring anything new and is just another spot the difference game.
