Rarely can a game claim to have a total original concept behind it - and while Subway Shuffle may have a hint of "Daughter in the box" (or Klotski) in its gameplay, its core is highly refreshing.
The idea is to shuffle your subway car along the tracks until you hit your destination station - a large red circle. Your subway car will always be red, and red cars can only travel on red tracks - same with all the other colours that exist in the game. In addition, on the end of every move, each car must be parked in a station - you can't move unless the next station is free. Later on, you'll encounter tracks that can take more than one colour, which provides further difficulty.

The presentation is great - levels are set out like a subway map, and there's plenty of minimalist sound effects to provide good audio cues. Any move can be undone, and hints can be used to complete the full level, should you choose. An added bonus is that the undo counter is smart, so if you take back a move, it will decrease the move count.
Subway Shuffle has 91 levels of increasing difficulty - many of the higher levels require a high number of moves - but fortunately you can see if you're on track with the in game move counter. Levels will be ticked off if completed, and will be given a second tick if you complete with the required moves.
There's not much more to say about it than that - it is what it is - an intelligently designed puzzle game with fluid controls, and a cool concept to boot. We're not recommending it for everyone, but we think fans of hard logic puzzles will find plenty to enjoy here. We think it provides excellent value for $2.99 as many of the puzzles will take a long time to complete.
Unique, puzzling game that gets incredibly difficult. If you're up for a challenge, do not hesitate to buy it.
