You have to give these guys some credit for coming up with an original idea—what other game boasts llamas and cannons at the same time? With the same care and attention paid to the design of this game as their other titles, Fleeced! comes off as another great game from Bight Games.

Blasting your opponent’s defences with cannons is really rather fun, especially as you can adjust the cannonball mid flight using the accelerometer, right up until it hits the hard ground and explodes. The tilt based control works surprisingly well and once you’ve fired a couple of tentative test launches, you’ll soon pick it up like a professional gunner.

Whilst not firing your cannons, you run around your pen picking up coins that are scattered randomly about, repairing walls and keeping an eye out for where the llama shaving ruffian is lurking. The key is not to let him into your defences if you can help it, whilst making it easy for your opponent to fall into his fleece trimming trap. Thus, you’ll be spending your cash on ever more powerful cannons—some with twin balls or scatter shots that make dealing damage much easier and much more fun. For this, the controls are great also—a left thumb analog stick providing the movement, and a selection of buttons on the right hand side for attacking, repairing or upgrading as you see fit.

Taking out your opponent’s walls should be your priority, but you can go for a direct attack to scatter his coins, or attack the cannons—that works especially well if you happen upon an increased damage power up. It shouldn’t be necessary to upgrade your own walls as repairing them costs nothing, and as long as you build a healthy supply of cannons you can deal damage rapidly. We found that upgrading cannons wasn’t as effective as simply building more to get more shots in.

One of the game’s key selling points is the multiplayer component which performs without a hitch. Couple that with a number of OpenFeint achievements and you have something that is a good value even if you just want to play a quick couple of rounds against one of your friends. However the game does suffer in the fact that there is only one environment type, and different pen layouts do not necessarily mean the game will be replayable time and time again. With that one environment it can start to feel repetitive.

But even when you take that into account, Fleeced! is still a really fun experience. The crazy humour, bright 3D graphics and fun music give this Peruvian themed game it’s own distinct flavour—even if the between level plot feels tacked on. We think you’ll enjoy this one.

Bright visuals bring Wardrobia to life, however it's not an especially long lived experience.

Ultimately, it's linear gameplay becomes it's downfall - as you become drawn to trial and error instead of true strategic prowess.
