Lazors is a stylish puzzle game that involves you reflecting a certain number of lasers in order to hit one or more targets. To achieve this goal, you have to arrange blocks in a certain way so that they’re not blocking the path of red laser light; standard white blocks reflect the light whilst darker blocks absorb it. In addition there are sometimes locked blocks on the level that you can’t move; these don’t really make a difference because the level may not always have a large amount of space to move in in the first place.
With this in mind, the game is actually fairly enjoyable, easy on the eyes and pretty challenging to boot; the only problem is that it’s not a wholly original concept, and the execution isn’t so superb that it makes the game a must buy. For one thing, there’s no music or sound effects—the latter can be critical to make a game feel more tactile and immersive, but as the game supports iPod library playback the music issue can be forgiven somewhat.
What is nice is that even though the game is linear, levels are divided into several packs; you can be stuck on a few different packs but still have completed a good portion of the game.
It’s not as immersive as it should be; but Lazors is nonetheless an impressive budget game. Were it more complete with music, sound effects and a few more puzzles we'd be tempted to bump it up a grade; for now though it’s still good!
Lazors, although easy on the eyes, feels incomplete; not the most original implementation but it is nonetheless a good one.
