The Smarty Test is a game in the style of The Impossible Quiz; a nonsense quiz that requires you to think outside the box for many of the questions. But this clone isn’t as interactive or varied as the aforementioned competitor, and is completely linear. The buttons stay in the same place each time, so once you know all the answers you can breeze through in less than a minute.
Like many games of this type once you run out of questions the game loses its appeal, so you would have thought that the developer would have bundled in some more questions. Indeed, that seems to be on its way, with two empty slots sitting there in the selection screen, but for now The Smarty Test is lacking on content.
What you get here is entertaining whilst it lasts; you get a hero as your mascot for each subsection of the game and you frequently have to answer questions on its appearance. Other challenges get as challenging as tricking you into speeding through by getting you to click on an area multiple times, then swapping the positions of what you’re supposed to tap with something you aren’t.
Ultimately, The Smarty Test isn’t one we can recommend; our firm opinion is that you cannot review a game based on updates that may or may not be coming. As of this writing the game doesn’t have the content needed to compete with the similar titles available in the App Store and therefore you should go pick up one of those instead.
Too short; you’ll be done with the game in 10 minutes if you’re smart, and although it can give a nice OpenFeint point boost there’s better titles available for the same price.
